Option 1: Two days Ice Climbing, two days Snowshoeing and two days Cross Country Skiing are waiting for you on this trip of a lifetime to Ceillac in the French Alps in 2017. Ceillac provides easy access to world class ice climbing with something for everyone, your IFGMA Guide will take you through the basics and build you up to tougher climbs on this amazing sport. Then we hit the snow for two days Cross Country as you learn to ‘glide’ – we follow the ski trails around the valley, it’s easy clock up the mileage and the valley has over 40km of trail to explore. Snowshoeing allows us get off the beaten track and explore places that are inaccessible without snowshoes. We’ve many routes to pick from but you’re guaranteed spectacular views as get deep into the alpine mountains.
Option 2: allows for you to concentrate more on the Snowshoeing and Cross Country Skiing as you have more time to pick the skills required. We take more time to look at skills required to survive in this environment including more in-depth analysis of the snowpack, navigation and dealing with the cold and survival techniques.
Option 3: 6 days on snowshoes means we can get to cover a lot more ground, we would aim to take in a number of peaks and also hopefully get a night in a mountain hut. There’s loads to learn about the alpine environment and your guides hold the International Mountain Leader professional award which means you are in safe hands.
You’ll learn some amazing skills with expert and highly qualified, experienced guides. You don’t need experience, we take it at whatever level you are at.
All of this is combined with our luxury chalet in the heart of Ceillac Village. Covered in snow and surrounded by high mountains it’s an idyllic location.
Gourmet catering is all provided with hearty local and alpine cuisine. Beer and wine are served with dinner.
We beleive in only working with small groups, professional, mature guides and an emphasis on learning.
We’re teamed up with gohop.ie, our travel partners, who will be looking after our travel logistics to get us to and from Turin Airport. Flight bookings for this expedition may be made through them or your can book direct with Ryanair. We fly from Dublin to Turin on the 21st Jan and return on the 28th.
