Short on time, big adventure dreams?
A self-guided tour is exactly what you’re looking for. Planning a trip takes a lot of work and research. Even your average holiday takes time and effort to put together. And if you’re looking at this page, chances are that you are not looking for an average holiday!
Why not benefit from our decades of experience doing this? We invest the time and passion on your behalf, so you can hit the ground running, hiking, biking on snow-shoes or skis.
If you have a certain level of experience* and would like to venture out on your own or with friends, booking a self-guided tour with us not only offers you the opportunity to cut chunks of time off your research. It gives you the confidence to get out there and do it, knowing you have our support on hand. Special rates available for Mountaineering Ireland affiliated clubs or equivalent.
Early booking is advised in Alpine areas in order to avail of refuges in popular areas. For instance the TMB huts book out over a year in advance! Camping is possible in some areas but not all.

self-guided tours: Who’s it for?
For those of you who would like to try something other than an organised group experience, but are short on the time that goes into the pre-planning and logistics, a self-guided tour is an ideal choice. You want the safety net of knowing everything has been planned with you in mind, accommodation is booked, maps will be handed to you. You just get yourself there and go. You will have some navigation competence (depending on trek/tour booked) and a keen sense of adventure!
We will offer you realistic advice based on your skill-set and prior experience. Bookings are not an indication by us of your readiness to undertake any trek/tour. You take on any adventure entirely at your own risk.
Equipment Hire
Subject to availability, we may even have the equipment you need to avoid expensive purchases on your self-guided tour.

Self-guided tours
Self-guided tours are for those of you who want to go it independently, but want us to undertake the planning and logistics (except flights and insurance) on your behalf – booking accommodation, in-country transfers, meals etc., and be your back link support. Examples might include multi-day trekking in The Alps, The Atlas mountains, Scandanavia and Greenland.
As a rough guide, each person should expect to pay about 50% of the guided trip fees. Book a discovery call now.
